A downloadable game for Windows

This should not be considered for a winning game as it is VERY unfinished.  It has no gameplay and no music.  As is, there is only a main menu, test arena, and a partially working pause menu* that allows you to leave the game.

* which I know is bugged and doesn't cover the whole screen when the window is made full-screen.

With all that said, this is what I could get done in two weeks solo while working full time and as acting DM for a D&D group (OH, and I was learning Godot as I went for this project; I've had it in my library, but never really learned it).  I started getting into this more than I thought I would.  For some reason, 2D games never really appealed to me as a dev because "oh I wanna make a 3D game herr derr".  With this project, the more I dug in, the more I liked it, and I kind of want to do more with this.  At minimum, I would like to finish making the demo this year.  Depending on how I am feeling about this when I get to that point (if I get there), I may flesh this out into a full game with something like 10 levels or so.  Some absolutely asinine part of me wants to make one demo per month this year.

List of things left to finish for minimum demo:
  • Working pause menu
  • Settings menu
  • Enemies
  • Guns
  • Actual statistics (Health, ammo, points, etc.)
  • End point
  • Win/Lose screen
  • In-game HUD
  • Music
  • An actual f***ing level
  • Save mechanic
  • More art for various aspects, including the goal line
  • And finally making all the art consistent in appearance pixel-wise

I have the minimum art done for the enemies and everyone's weapons, as well as the art for a Settings button and crates.  For all of the coding, I pretty much just copy/pasted what was in the documentation online straight into the game with minor tweaks to allow the game to function.

Proof that I actually did some of the other art:
